The Amatrice playground reopens thanks to the contribution of the Gamenet Group
At 12pm on Saturday 12 May, the new “Don Giovanni Minozzi” playground in Amatrice, which was destroyed by the earthquake that struck Central Italy in 2016, will reopen. The playground has been completely rebuilt thanks to donations from Gamenet Group and other companies in the gaming sector.
The reopening of the playground is a beacon of hope for the local community and is a testament to the commitment shown by Gamenet Group since 2016 in supporting the areas and communities affected by the earthquake, demonstrating its solidarity through this project and various other initiatives. The small municipality of upper Lazio will once again have a shared space open to all, where both young and old can come together to enjoy a moment of tranquillity. The reconstruction also represented an opportunity to give the new playground a facelift, transforming it into a social and cultural hub. Fitness trails and new games for toddlers and children are enhanced with art installations designed specially to preserve the area’s artistic heritage.
The playground, which is located close to the temporary Council Offices where the emergency headquarters were established during the earthquake, will add to the other public facilities which are slowly being returned to the local population, such as the communal football field or the sports arena. It is a small step forward on the road to Amatrice’s recovery, a journey which the Gamenet Group is proud to be a part of.
